Zacoalco de Torres is a town and a municipality in Jalisco, Mexico. It was once called Zacoalco. Its name comes from the Nahuatl language, Tzacoalco, which means "place of closed water."
This area is famous for making special furniture called equipal. This furniture is made from wood and pigskin. In 2005, about 30,528 people lived in the municipality.

The Zacoalco de Torres municipality covers an area of 479.1 square kilometers. To its east, you can find Lake Chapala, which is the biggest lake in Mexico.
