Zaida Bergroth was born in a place called Kivijärvi in 1977. She studied filmmaking and graduated from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in 2004. This is a well-known school for arts and design in Finland.
Her first full-length movie, called Last Cowboy Standing, came out in 2009. Later, in 2019, it was announced that she would direct a special kind of film called a biopic. A biopic is a movie that tells the true story of a real person's life. Zaida's biopic was about the beloved Moomin author, Tove Jansson. This film, simply titled Tove, was released in 2020 and became very popular.
