Zaven Andriasian was born on March 11, 1989. He is a talented Armenian chess player. He holds the highest title in chess, which is Grandmaster. Zaven is also a former World Junior Chess Champion.
Zaven's Amazing Chess Journey
Zaven Andriasian started playing chess at a young age. He quickly showed great skill. In 2005, he won the European Youth Chess Championship. This was for players under 16 years old.
Becoming a Grandmaster
The next year, in 2006, Zaven won the World Junior Chess Championship. This was a very big win! Winning this championship automatically made him a Grandmaster. A Grandmaster (GM) is the highest title a chess player can get. It means you are one of the best players in the world.
Other Big Wins
Zaven continued to achieve great things. In November 2010, he won the Russian Cup Final. He played against Artyom Timofeev and won.
In January 2012, Zaven placed second in the Armenian Chess960 Championship. Chess960 is a fun version of chess where the starting position of the pieces is different each game.
Later that year, in December 2012, he tied for first place. This happened at the Groningen Chess Festival. He shared the win with Alexander Kovchan and Sipke Ernst. In 2016, Zaven Andriasian won the Armenian Chess Championship. This showed he was the best chess player in his home country.
