Zero is a small place in central Lauderdale County, Mississippi, United States. It is an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
Zero is about 5.5 miles (8.9 km) southeast of a bigger city called Meridian. It's also close to a main road, U.S. Route 45.
A Look Back at Zero's History
Zero was first known by a different name: "Pleasant Hill." People started settling there a long time ago, as early as 1841.
By the year 1900, about 50 people lived in Zero. For a while, Zero even had its own post office. But in 1905, the post office closed down.
Today, the Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department is located in Zero. This fire department helps keep the community safe. There is also a recreation center in Zero, which is a place where people can go for fun activities.
