Zhou Jieqiong (born December 16, 1998) is a talented Chinese singer and actress. She is also known as Jieqiong or Kyulkyung. Many people know her as a member of the popular girl group I.O.I. She joined I.O.I after placing sixth in the TV show Produce 101.

Zhou also became a member of the girl group Pristin and its smaller group, Pristin V. She started her solo music career in China on September 6, 2018, with the song "Why". As an actress, she has starred in several TV shows. These include Miss Truth (2020), Legend of Fei (2020), To Be With You (2021), Be My Princess (2022), and Romance in the Alley (2024).

Early Life and School

Zhou Jieqiong was born on December 16, 1998. Her hometown is Taizhou, Zhejiang, China. She went to the Music Middle School. This school is part of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. There, she learned to play the pipa, a Chinese musical instrument.

In 2009, talent scouts from Pledis Entertainment found her in Shanghai. She then moved to South Korea to train. In 2017, she finished her studies. She earned a degree in performing arts from the School of Performing Arts Seoul.

In 2016, Zhou joined a TV show called Produce 101. This show aired from January to April. It was a competition to create a new girl group. Five people from her company, Pledis Entertainment, were on the show. Only Zhou and Lim Na-young made it to the final group.

Zhou finished in sixth place. She received 218,338 votes from viewers. The group, named I.O.I, officially started on May 4. Their first song was "Dream Girls".

Joining Pristin

After I.O.I finished their activities, Zhou and Lim joined a new group. This group was called Pristin. It was also formed by Pledis Entertainment. Pristin officially started on March 21, 2017. They released their first mini-album, Hi! Pristin. The main song from the album was "Wee Woo".

Solo Music and Acting

In January 2018, Zhou became a dance mentor. She taught dance on the TV show Idol Producer. Later that year, a smaller group from Pristin was formed. It was called Pristin V. Zhou was part of this group. They released their first album, Like a V, on May 28, 2018.

Zhou also released a song for a TV show. It was called "Leave It to Brother". On August 31, her company said she would start her solo career in China. Her first solo song, "Why", came out on September 6. She performed it live the next day. Zhou also sang songs for other TV shows. In October, she started her acting career. Her first role was in the drama Miss Truth.

On May 24, 2019, Pristin officially broke up. Zhou decided to stay with Pledis Entertainment.

In 2020, Zhou released more songs for Miss Truth. She also starred in the Chinese TV series Legend of Fei. In 2021, she played the main role in To Be With You.

On May 4, 2021, I.O.I members had a reunion. They celebrated their 5th anniversary with a live video call. Zhou joined them from China. In 2022, Zhou starred in the romance drama Be My Princess.
