Zhou Jieqiong (known as Jieqiong or Kyulkyung in Korean) is a talented singer and actress from China. She was born on December 16, 1998. Many people know her as a member of the popular K-pop girl group I.O.I. She joined this group after doing very well on a TV show called Produce 101.

Jieqiong was also part of another girl group called Pristin and its smaller group, Pristin V. Later, she started her own solo music career. Besides singing, she has acted in several TV shows. Some of her well-known roles are in Miss Truth (2020), Legend of Fei (2020), and Be My Princess (2022).

Early Life and Training

Zhou Jieqiong was born in Taizhou, Zhejiang, China. When she was younger, she went to a special music school in Shanghai. There, she learned to play the pipa, which is a traditional Chinese instrument.

In 2009, when she was just 11 years old, talent scouts from a South Korean entertainment company called Pledis Entertainment found her in Shanghai. She then moved to South Korea to train to become a K-pop idol. In 2017, she finished her studies at the School of Performing Arts Seoul, where she focused on performing arts.

In 2016, Zhou Jieqiong joined a TV show called Produce 101. This show was a competition where 101 trainees competed to become part of a new girl group. Zhou was one of the five trainees from Pledis Entertainment who participated.

She did very well on the show and ended up in sixth place. This meant she became one of the 11 members of the final group, I.O.I. The group officially started their music career on May 4, 2016, with their song "Dream Girls".

Debuting with Pristin

After I.O.I finished their activities, Zhou Jieqiong joined a new girl group from Pledis Entertainment called Pristin. Pristin officially started on March 21, 2017. They released their first mini-album, Hi! Pristin, which included their main song "Wee Woo".

Solo Music and Acting

In 2018, Zhou Jieqiong became a dance mentor on a TV show called Idol Producer. Later that year, a smaller group from Pristin, called Pristin V, was formed. Zhou was part of this group, and they released their single album Like a V in May 2018.

Zhou also started her solo music career in China. She released her first digital single, "Why", on September 6, 2018. She also sang songs for TV shows, known as "soundtracks."

In October 2018, Zhou Jieqiong began her acting career in a historical mystery TV show called Miss Truth. On May 24, 2019, Pristin officially broke up. Zhou decided to stay with her company, Pledis Entertainment.

In 2020, Zhou released more songs for Miss Truth. She also starred in a Chinese TV series about martial arts called Legend of Fei. In 2021, she played a main role in the show To Be With You.

On May 4, 2021, Zhou and the other members of I.O.I had a special online reunion to celebrate their 5th anniversary. Even though Zhou was in China, she joined by video call. In 2022, she starred in the romance drama Be My Princess.
