IV of Spades Band
In June 2014, Allan Mitchell Silonga wanted to start a band for his son, Blaster, who plays lead guitar. They found drummer Badjao de Castro and bassist Zildjian "Zild" Benitez, whose fathers were friends with Allan. Later, Unique Salonga, who was Zild's churchmate and already wrote his own songs, joined as the lead singer.
The band signed with Warner Music Philippines and released their first song, "Ilaw sa Daan."
In 2018, IV of Spades won several awards. They were named "New Artist of the Year" and won "MYX Bandarito Performance of the Year" at the Myx Music Awards. They also won the "Dreams Come True with Air Asia" award, which allowed them to perform with famous musician David Foster. The band also received the "Favorite New Group" award at the 30th Awit Awards.
After Unique Salonga left the band to follow his own path, Zild took over as the lead vocalist. A few months later, on January 18, 2019, IV of Spades released their first full album, ClapClapClap!.
