Zimmerdale is a small, unincorporated community in Harvey County, Kansas, United States. An unincorporated community is a place where people live together but it doesn't have its own official local government like a city or town. Zimmerdale is located along an old highway and a railroad line, between the towns of Hesston and Newton.
History
Zimmerdale wasn't always called Zimmerdale! When it was first settled, it had a different name: Trousdale. It was named after a person named W. Truesdale. Later on, the community decided to change its name. They chose Zimmerdale to honor Martin Zimmermann. This is how many small communities get their names, often from important people who helped start or develop the area.
Education
