Zoe Buckman is an Australian runner. She was born on December 21, 1988. Zoe has competed in many running events. These include the 400 metres, 800 metres, 1,500 metres, and 5,000 metres races. She has raced both in Australia and around the world.

Zoe ran for the University of Oregon while studying there. She has also competed in big events like the Junior World Championships. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Summer Olympics. Zoe was also a finalist in the 1500 metres at the 2013 IAAF World Athletics Championships. Zoe is a talented runner in several events. Her fastest time in the 400 metres is 54.62 seconds. For the 800 metres, her best time is 2 minutes and 1.60 seconds. In the 1,500 metres, her personal best is 4 minutes and 3.22 seconds. Her coach is Nic Bideau.

National Championships

Zoe has competed many times at the Australian Championships. In 2005, she raced in the under-20 group. She came second in the 400 metres and first in the 800 metres. The next year, in 2006, she won the 800 metres and was second in the 1500 metres.

In 2007, still in the under-20 category, she won the 800 metres. She also placed third in the 1500 metres. That same year, she competed in the open age group and came third in the 800 metres. In 2010, she was second in the 5000 metres at the open Australian Championships. She also placed second in the 800 metres in 2012.

Zoe has won the national 1500m championship three times. She was the champion in 2011, 2013, and 2014.

Competing on the World Stage

Zoe also competed at the World Junior Championships. In 2004, her 4 × 400 metre team finished fifth in their qualifying race. She returned in 2006, reaching the semi-final in the 800 metres and the final in the 1500 metres.

She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 1500 metre event. She ran her fastest time ever in the semi-final, but did not make it to the final. Zoe was one of ten former students from the University of Oregon to compete at those Olympics.

In 2013, Zoe had a great performance at the World Championships in Moscow, Russia. She won her 1500 metre semi-final with a new personal best time of 4 minutes and 4.8 seconds. She then finished fourth in the final.

Setting Records and Winning Medals

Zoe has also represented Athletics Australia at other major events. She competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She also raced at the 2017 World Championships.

At the World Athletics Relays Championships, she achieved great success. In 2014 and 2017, she won three bronze medals. In 2014, she helped set an Oceania Record in both the 4x800 Metres and 4 x 1500m relays.
