The École nationale supérieure d'informatique pour l'industrie et l'entreprise (that's a long name, so we'll call it ENSIIE) is a special public school in France. It's like a top university for students who want to become experts in computers and math.
ENSIIE is known for teaching computer science (how computers work and how to make them do things) and applied mathematics (using math to solve real-world problems).
To get into ENSIIE, students usually take a very tough exam called Concours Mines-Télécom. They prepare for this exam for two years after high school. Some students also join from other colleges or through special programs. Many international students also come to ENSIIE through partnerships.
This school is part of important groups like Institut Mines-Télécom and is connected to the University of Paris-Saclay.
ENSIIE was started in 1968 by the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. It used to be in Paris, but now it's located in Évry, France.
By 2020, over 4000 engineers had graduated from ENSIIE. These graduates are called alumni and they work in many different fields.

What You Can Study at ENSIIE
Getting Into ENSIIE
Getting into ENSIIE is competitive. Most students prepare for at least two years in special classes after high school. Each year, about 130 to 150 new students are accepted.
Learning About Tech and More
The courses at ENSIIE last for three years. In your final year, you might even get to study at a university in another country! Some students go to places like the University of Manchester or Oxford University in the UK, or the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada. Sometimes, this means you can earn a degree from both ENSIIE and the foreign university.
ENSIIE also has many other partnerships with universities around the world. You can find a full list on their official website.
Your studies at ENSIIE will cover three main areas:
- Computer Science: You'll learn about coding, databases, multimedia, AI, computer networks, computer hardware, robotics, cybersecurity, video game design, and virtual reality.
- Mathematics: This includes data science, how to make good decisions using math, formal methods, finance, and probabilities.
- Economics & Management: You'll learn about managing projects and starting your own business (called entrepreneurship).
You'll also study some other subjects like languages (you need to pass the TOEIC test) and how we know things.
Real-World Experience: Internships
A big part of studying at ENSIIE is getting real-world experience. You'll spend about 11 months working in companies or research labs through three internships:
- 2 months after your first year.
- 3 months after your second year.
- 6 months after your third year.
Different Ways to Learn
ENSIIE also offers a dual education system. This means some students split their time between working at a company and going to school. They might work for a few days a week and then study for a few days.
There's also a program for professionals who already have some experience in IT. This is called continuing education and helps them get an advanced diploma.
Famous People Who Went Here
- Christophe Devine (graduated 2003): He invented important software programs called Aircrack-ng and XySSL.
