Édith Scob (born October 21, 1937 – died June 26, 2019) was a French actress. She was famous for her work in both movies and plays. One of her most well-known roles was in the 1960 film Eyes Without a Face.

Her Early Life and Family
Édith Scob was born in Paris, France. Her full name was Édith Helena Vladimirovna Scobeltzine. Her grandfather was a general in the Russian Army. Her father worked as an architect, and her mother was a journalist.
Édith had an older brother named Michel Scob. He was a French cycling champion and even competed in the Olympics! When she was 14, Édith had some health challenges. She loved reading and books, which made her interested in acting. She studied French at the Sorbonne and took drama classes. This is how she got her very first acting job.
Édith married a composer named Georges Aperghis. They had two sons, Alexander and Jerome, who both became writers.
Her Acting Career
Édith Scob became well-known very early in her career. This happened when she starred in the movie Eyes Without a Face in 1960. She was later nominated twice for a big award called the César Award for Best Supporting Actress. This was for her roles in Summer Hours (2008) and Holy Motors (2012).
After some important events in France in May 1968, Édith and her husband started a special theatre group. They wanted to bring more culture and art to people who might not usually get to experience it.

Édith Scob had a very long and successful career. She acted in many plays and movies. She was known for her unique and powerful performances.

Édith Scob continued acting until she passed away in 2019.
