Éric Laplante (born December 1, 1979) is a former Canadian ice hockey player. He played as a right wing. He was part of teams in the American Hockey League (AHL).
His Hockey Journey
Starting Out
Éric Laplante began his hockey career in junior leagues. He played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). This was from 1996 to 2000. His skills were noticed by professional teams. The San Jose Sharks picked him in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 65th player chosen overall.
Professional Teams
Laplante joined the Sharks' farm team in 2000. This team was the Kentucky Thoroughblades. They played in the American Hockey League (AHL). He played in the AHL for three years. After that, he returned to Quebec.
Years later, in September 2012, he got another chance. He was invited to a training camp. This was for the Jonquière Marquis team. They play in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH). Éric worked hard and earned a spot on the team.
In June 2013, another team selected him. The Valleyfield Braves chose him in an expansion draft. Later, in July 2015, the Laval Predators announced they had signed him. He continued to play until 2017.
