Östen Warnerbring (born November 22, 1934 – died January 18, 2006) was a famous Swedish singer, musician, and songwriter. Many people knew him by his nickname, Östen med Rösten, which means "Östen with the Voice". He was really good at many different kinds of music, like jazz and schlager. Schlager is a type of popular music, often with catchy melodies. Östen Warnerbring was also one of the first Swedish artists in the 1970s to sing using his local accent from Scania (Skåne), a region in southern Sweden.

Early Life of Östen Warnerbring
Östen Warnerbring was born in the city of Malmö, Sweden. His family lived close to the Jägersro race track. When he was a child, Östen would entertain the people watching the races by playing his harmonica for them.
As he grew up, Östen had many different jobs. He worked as a messenger for a newspaper called Sydsvenska Dagbladet. He was also a tinsmith, a salesman, and even a manager at a record company. For a while, he worked as a journalist for Skånska Dagbladet. Eventually, he had to choose between being a journalist or a musician, and he picked music. Östen spent most of his life living in the Skåne region of Sweden.
Östen Warnerbring's Music Career
Östen Warnerbring started his music career playing in different orchestras that performed at dances. His very first record was released in 1952. A famous jazz musician named Arne Domnérus noticed Östen's singing talent in the mid-1950s.
In 1964, Östen began touring around Sweden, performing in places called folkparks. These are outdoor parks where people gather for entertainment. His biggest success came in 1965 with a song called En röd blomma till en blond flicka. This was a Swedish version of a popular song named Red Roses for a Blue Lady. Östen was also a popular cabaret artist, which means he performed in shows with singing, dancing, and comedy. He also appeared in musicals and on television.
Melodifestivalen and Eurovision
Östen Warnerbring took part in Melodifestivalen eleven times. This is the Swedish competition that chooses the song for the Eurovision Song Contest. Eurovision is a big international music competition where countries from Europe (and some others) compete.
His first time in Melodifestivalen was in 1959 with the song Kungsgatans blues, which came in fourth place. In 1960, he sang Alla andra får varann. This song won the competition, but another singer, Siw Malmkvist, performed it at the Eurovision finals in London.
In 1962, Östen sang two songs in the contest: Lolo Lolita came in fourth, and Trollen ska trivas was sixth. His big moment came in 1967 when he won Melodifestivalen with his song Som en dröm (meaning "Like a Dream"). He then performed this song at the Eurovision finals that year in Vienna. His last time in Melodifestivalen was in 1974 with a song he wrote himself, En mysig vals, which finished in tenth place.
Later Years
Östen Warnerbring passed away in San Agustín, which is located in the Canary Islands, Spain.
