The École des technologies numériques avancées (which means "School of Advanced Digital Technologies"), often called ETNA, is a private school in France. It teaches students all about computer science. The school is located in a city called Ivry-sur-Seine.

ETNA started in 2005. It became part of the IONIS Education Group in 2006. The degrees and certificates from ETNA are officially recognized by the French government. This means they are valid for jobs and further studies.

ETNA is part of the same group as other well-known computer schools. These include EPITA and EPITECH. Students at ETNA can use the special computer labs and equipment at these other schools. After graduating from ETNA, students can continue their studies. They might go to the IONIS School of Technology and Management. They can also get a special business degree called an MBA. This MBA can be from the Institut supérieur de gestion. Students at ETNA can also prepare for important computer certifications. These include certifications from companies like Microsoft, Cisco Systems, and Oracle.

What You Learn at ETNA

ETNA offers a special way of learning called a dual education system. This means you learn in class and also get real-world work experience. The course lasts for three years. Each year, students spend about 200 hours in lessons. They also spend 400 hours working on practical projects. These projects are like real-life challenges.

Study Paths

Students can choose one of two main study paths. They pick their path in their second year.

  • Software Development: This path teaches you how to create computer programs and apps.
  • System and Computer Network: This path focuses on how computers connect and work together. It also covers how to manage computer systems.

First Year Subjects

In your first year at ETNA, you will learn many different subjects. These subjects give you a strong base in computer science.

  • Management: Learning how to organize projects and teams.
  • Database: How to store and manage large amounts of information.
  • IPv4 Network: Understanding how computers talk to each other on the internet.
  • Web Technologies: How websites are made and how they work.

  • Computer Culture: Understanding the history and impact of computers.
  • English: Important for working in the global tech world.
  • Mathematics: The basic math skills needed for computer science.
  • Method: Learning how to solve problems in a structured way.

Second and Third Year Subjects

As you move into your second and third years, your studies become more advanced. You will work on bigger projects and learn more about business.

  • Project Work: You will work on real-world computer projects.
  • Business Valuation: Understanding the value of tech ideas and companies.
  • English: Continuing to improve your language skills.

New Program in 2013

In September 2013, ETNA started a new and exciting program. This program lasts for two years. It is for students who have finished their French Baccalauréat (high school diploma). The special thing about this program is that it is completely free to attend! There were 250 spots available for students. The idea is that graduates from this program will help pay for future students. They do this by paying 250 euros each month for three years after they graduate. This helps new students get a great education without paying upfront.
