Epitech, also known as the Paris Graduate School of Digital Innovation, is a private school that teaches computer science and software engineering. It was started in 1999. The school's French name is École pour l'informatique et les nouvelles technologies.

Epitech is a great place to learn how to create computer programs, apps, and software. Its main campus is just south of Paris in a town called Le Kremlin-Bicêtre. The school has many other locations in France and in other countries like Spain, Germany, and Belgium.

One special thing about Epitech is its teaching style. Instead of just reading books and listening to lectures, students learn by working on real projects. This hands-on approach helps them gain practical skills.

Epitech is part of a larger network of schools called the IONIS Education Group.

How Epitech Started and Grew

Epitech was founded in 1999. It was created for students who were very focused on learning all about computer science.

In 2007, the school began to grow quickly. It opened new campuses in many French cities, including Bordeaux, Lille, and Lyon. A year later, in 2008, it opened even more locations in cities like Nice and Marseille.

Since January 2024, the main degree from Epitech is officially recognized by the French government's Ministry of Higher Education. This is a big achievement for the school.

Growing Around the World

Epitech didn't just grow in France. In 2013, it opened a campus in Beijing, China. The school also planned to open more branches in other countries.

By 2021, Epitech had campuses in many international cities, including New York City, Berlin, and Barcelona. These locations are part of a special five-year program. In this program, students can travel and study at different Epitech campuses around the world.

Working with Other Groups

Epitech partners with other organizations to help more people learn about technology.

One important partnership is with a group called Zup de Co. Together, they created the Web@cademie. This is a free, two-year training program for young people who are very interested in computers but did not finish traditional high school. The program trains them to become software developers, who are people that create computer software.

Epitech also works with other universities. In 2022, it teamed up with the ESME-Sudria school to offer a summer school program about robotics for students from other countries. The school has partnerships with over 100 universities worldwide, such as The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and the University of Kent in England.

Famous Graduates

Some Epitech students have gone on to do amazing things.

  • Solomon Hykes, who graduated in 2006, is the CEO of Docker, Inc., a very important software company.
