Geography of Ézaro
Ézaro is special because it's the only part of the Dumbría area that touches the sea, the amazing Atlantic Ocean. It's about 100 kilometers away from the city of A Coruña. This beautiful place is located in a region often called Costa da Morte, which means "Coast of Death". Don't worry, it's named for its rugged coastline, not danger!
The Ézaro area covers about 13.2 square kilometers. The Xallas River flows through it and creates something truly unique: the Fervenza do Ézaro waterfall. This is the only waterfall in Europe that flows directly into the ocean! Years ago, the water only flowed on weekends when a dam upstream was opened. But now, the waterfall flows all the time, making it a constant natural wonder.
Near the waterfall, you can find the Museum of Electricity. This museum teaches you about how electricity is made using water power. It's also the starting point for a challenging road climb up to the Mirador de Ézaro, a viewpoint with amazing views.
The main part of Ézaro has a lovely walking path along its beach. This beach, called Praia do Ézaro, has fine sand and has been given a Blue Flag award. This means it's a very clean and safe beach for swimming and relaxing.
