Šarūnas Bartas (born August 16, 1964) is a famous film director from Lithuania. He is known around the world for his unique movies. Many people consider him one of the most important Lithuanian film directors from the late 1900s. His films often show deep feelings and interesting stories.
His movie Peace to Us in Our Dreams was shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. This is a very big and important film festival! Another one of his films, In the Dusk, was also chosen for the Cannes Film Festival in 2020.

- 1990 - Audience Award at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, for "Praėjusios dienos atminimui" (In the Memory of a Day Gone By).
- 1992 - FIPRESCI Prize - Honorable Mention and Prize of the Ecumenical Jury - Special Mention at the Berlin International Film Festival, for "Trys dienos" (Three Days). The FIPRESCI Prize is given by film critics.
- 1995 - FIPRESCI Prize at Viennale, for "Koridorius" (The Corridor).
- C.I.C.A.E. Award at Torino International Festival of Young Cinema, for "Koridorius" (The Corridor).
- 2000 - CinemAvvenire Award – Best Film on the Relationship Man-Nature, at the Venice Film Festival, for Laisvė (Freedom).
