Šarūnas Bartas, born on August 16, 1964, is a famous film director from Lithuania. He is known around the world for his unique movies. Many people consider him one of the most important Lithuanian directors from the late 1900s. His film Peace to Us in Our Dreams was shown at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival in a special section called Directors' Fortnight. Another one of his films, In the Dusk, was also chosen for the official selection of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival.
