Robert died while on a pilgrimage, which was a religious journey, in a place called Nicaea (in modern-day Turkey). His death at a young age led to his son William becoming duke.

  • On October 18th, Sancho III of Navarre died. He was a very powerful king who ruled over several kingdoms in what is now Spain. He was known as "Sancho the Great" because he expanded his lands and was a strong leader.
  • On November 4th, Jaromír, the Duke of Bohemia (a region in the modern-day Czech Republic), passed away.
  • On November 12th, Canute the Great died. He was one of the most powerful kings of his time, ruling over England, Denmark, Norway, and parts of Sweden. His death led to his sons, Harold Harefoot and Harthacanute, taking over parts of his vast empire.
