In the Roman Empire
In the powerful Roman Empire, a man named Publius Helvius Pertinax took on an important job. He became the proconsul of Africa. A proconsul was like a governor who ruled a Roman province for a year.
In Asia
Far away in Japan, a new leader began her rule. This was Queen Himiko, sometimes called Pimiko. She became a very important figure in Japanese history.
Meanwhile, in China, there was a big battle. Two rebel leaders, Zhang Ju and Zhang Chun, were defeated. They lost to the forces of the Han dynasty, led by a general named Liu Yu.
