Turkey Stearnes was the biggest star for the Detroit Stars. He played in center field. Stearnes was one of the best players in the entire Negro National League. He was amazing at hitting the ball.

- He had the second-highest batting average at .383. This means he got a hit almost 38% of the time he tried to hit.
