Playoff Challenge: Facing the Blackhawks
After the regular season, the best teams go to the playoffs. This is a special tournament where teams play against each other to win the Stanley Cup, the NHL championship trophy. In the 2009-10 playoffs, the Nashville Predators played against the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round, called the Western Conference Quarter-finals. The Blackhawks were a strong team, ranked second, while the Predators were ranked seventh.
Teams play a "best-of-seven" series, meaning the first team to win four games moves on. Here's how the series went:
Game # | Date | Visitor | Home | Score | OT | Series |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | April 16 | Predators | Blackhawks | 4 - 1 | Nashville leaded series 1 - 0 | |

In the end, the Chicago Blackhawks won the series 4 games to 2, which meant the Predators' playoff journey for the 2009-10 season came to an end.
