This makes it the 26th-tallest building in all of Minnesota. It's the tallest building in Bloomington. It's also the tallest in the suburbs around Minneapolis-St. Paul.
About the 8500 Tower
The 8500 Tower is part of a bigger group of buildings called Normandale Lake Office Park. This park has five office buildings. It is located near Normandale Lake. Many people think this area is the "downtown" of Bloomington. It is a main business area along Interstate 494.
Who Has Owned the Tower?
From 2012 to 2014, a company called Equity Group Investments owned the 8500 Tower. They also owned the rest of the Normandale Lake Office Park.
In 2014, Equity Group Investments sold the buildings to MetLife. People thought this sale was the biggest in the history of the Twin Cities area. The exact price was not shared with the public. In 2019, the property was put up for sale again.
