A K Dolven (her full name is Anne Katrine, born in 1953) is a talented artist from Norway. She creates art using many different forms. These include painting, making films, sound art, sculptures, and art projects in public places.

Her art often explores nature's power and how it connects with human feelings. Her works can be very big and grand, or small and simple. They often show ideas that are important to everyone, but also very personal. How people relate to each other is a key part of her art. Many of her performance pieces involve working with other people.

Today, she lives in Kvalnes, Norway.

Life and Art Journey

Dolven was born and grew up in Oslo, Norway. But she moved away early in her life. First, she went to Lofoten, a beautiful group of islands in Norway. Then, in 1972, she moved to France to study art. She attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Aix-en-Provence. Later, she studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. After that, she continued her studies at the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo.

From 1987 to 1997, she lived between Berlin, Germany, and Lofoten. This was after she received a special grant from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1997 to 2017, she worked between London, UK, and her home in Lofoten. In 2005, she set up her own art studio, Atelier Kvalnes. This studio became the main place for her international art projects.

Dolven often takes photos and videos of places north of the Arctic Circle. This includes her home in Lofoten. She is also well-known for her public sculptures. These are artworks that people can see in public spaces. She also helped start the outdoor sculpture project called Artscape Nordland.

She has won important awards for her art. In 2000, she received the German Fred-Thieler Prize. In 2005, she was awarded the Swedish Prince Eugen Medal.
