Ahkinoah Habah Izarh, known by his stage name AHI, is a talented Canadian singer and songwriter. He is famous for his folk music, which often tells stories and shares feelings. AHI has been nominated twice for a Juno Award, which is one of Canada's biggest music awards.
He was nominated for the Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year. This happened in Juno Awards of 2019 for his album In Our Time. He was nominated again in Juno Awards of 2022 for his album Prospect. These nominations show how much his music is appreciated.
AHI's Journey in Music
AHI grew up in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He now lives mainly in Toronto. His music journey began with his first album, We Made It Through the Wreckage, which came out in 2016. This album introduced his unique sound to the world.
In 2017, AHI won the Canadian Songwriting Competition in the folk music group. He also received the Stingray Rising Star Award at the Folk Music Ontario conference. These awards helped him gain more recognition. After this success, he signed with a music company called Thirty Tigers.
This company helped release his next albums. His second album, In Our Time, was released in 2018. Then, Prospect came out in 2021. Prospect was even considered for the Polaris Music Prize in 2022. The Polaris Music Prize is a very important award in Canada that celebrates the best albums.
