Aaron Hall's Early Life
Aaron Robin Hall III was born in the Bronx, New York City. He grew up in Brooklyn. His family has both African-American and Puerto Rican roots. His father, Aaron Hall II, was a well-known pastor in New York. Aaron is the second oldest of the Hall brothers, including Damion Hall and minister Todd Hall.
From a young age, Aaron loved to sing in a Baptist church. He worked hard to develop his singing talent. Before he started his R&B career, his mother passed away. As a child, Aaron had a speech impediment. This made it hard for him to say his own name sometimes. It also made it difficult for him to give interviews when he first became famous.
Aaron Hall's Music Career
Guy: The Group Years (1987–1992, 1999–2000)
Aaron's friend, Timmy Gatling, saw his talent. Timmy worked with Aaron at a store called Abraham & Straus in the 1980s. Timmy knew Teddy Riley, and together they decided to form the group Guy.
Aaron Hall's singing style was unique. It blended his gospel background with a strong, emotional delivery. His voice influenced other artists like R. Kelly and Joe. After Guy broke up, Aaron signed with Silas Records. This label was part of MCA Records. Aaron later reunited with his brother and Teddy Riley for a Guy reunion album in 2000, called Guy III. This album featured the song "Dancin'", which was a modest hit. The group still performs together on tours today.

Aaron also created songs for movie soundtracks and worked with other artists.
Another big hit for Aaron was the R&B single, "Don't Be Afraid." This song reached number 1 on the R&B chart. The original and remix versions of "Don't Be Afraid" were produced by Hank Shocklee. Shocklee also produced music for the famous hip-hop group Public Enemy.

This song became a top 10 hit on Billboard's Top Hip Hop/R&B Songs chart. It also reached the top 30 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
Adults Only: The Final Album (2005)
In the early 2000s, Aaron Hall left MCA Records. He started his own independent label called "Artists Only International." This label was part of "Headstart Entertainment." Aaron wanted more control over his music. He experimented with different music styles, mixing R&B, reggae, and hip-hop. He called this his "last album." He also hinted that he might use a new stage name, "E. Kane," in the future. The album was released in July 2005.
