Abanto y Ciérvana-Abanto Zierbena is a town in the Basque Country region of northern Spain. It is located in the province of Biscay. This area is known for its beautiful landscapes and rich history.
Since 1995, Abanto y Ciérvana-Abanto Zierbena has been a separate municipality from its neighbor, Zierbena. Even though it's separate, its name was never shortened to just "Abanto." This is because there's already a small village called Abanto in the Aragón region of Spain.
Most people in this municipality live in a place called Gallarta. Gallarta used to be a mining town. Today, it is a busy town where many people live and travel to work in nearby Bilbao. It has good transport links, including a motorway and a train station. There is also a large area with many businesses and factories.
