Abasolo is a small city in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila. It's also the main town of the Abasolo area. In the year 2000, about 1,130 people lived there.

History of Abasolo
How Abasolo Got Its Name
Abasolo was first known as Vicente el Alto in 1730. On November 14, 1827, it became a village. It was then renamed after Mariano Abasolo. He was an important leader during Mexico's fight for independence.
