Abdisalam Abdulkadir Ibrahim (born May 1, 1991) is a footballer, also known as a soccer player. He plays as a midfielder, a position in the middle of the field. He last played for Ullensaker/Kisa in Norway. Abdisalam was born in Somalia but has played for the Norwegian national team.

Abdisalam Ibrahim's Football Journey
Starting in Norway
Abdisalam Ibrahim was born in Somalia. In 1998, he moved to Norway. This is where his football journey began. He started playing as a young boy for local teams like Øyer-Tretten and Lørenskog. Later, he joined Fjellhamar. He played his first senior game for Fjellhamar in 2006.
Joining Manchester City
In 2007, Abdisalam moved to England to join Manchester City. This is a very famous football club. In 2008, he helped Manchester City win the FA Youth Cup final. They beat Chelsea in a big youth tournament.
People at the club thought his playing style was similar to Patrick Vieira, a famous midfielder. Abdisalam made his first team debut for Manchester City in 2010. This was in an FA Cup game. Soon after, he played his first Premier League game against Liverpool. Manchester City gave him a new contract that lasted until 2014.
Loan Spells and First Title
To gain more experience, Abdisalam went on loan to other clubs.
- In 2011, he joined Scunthorpe United for a few months.
- Later in 2011, he moved to the Netherlands to play for NEC. He scored one goal there.
- From 2012 to 2013, he played for Strømsgodset in Norway. This was a very successful time! In the 2013 season, Abdisalam played 17 games as Strømsgodset won the Tippeligaen, which is Norway's top football league. This was his first major title as a professional player.
In 2014, Abdisalam left Manchester City after living in the United Kingdom for several years.
Playing in Greece
After leaving Manchester City, Abdisalam moved to Greece.
- In January 2014, he joined Olympiacos, a top Greek club. He played one game for them.
- He then went on loan to Ergotelis for the rest of the season.
- In 2015, he signed a two-year contract with another Greek club, Veria.
Returning to Norway
Abdisalam returned to Norway in 2016.
- He signed with Viking in January 2016. His contract was for three years.
- In March 2017, he joined Vålerenga. He played for them until the end of the 2018 season.
Playing in Cyprus and Italy
Abdisalam continued his career in other countries.
- In 2019, he moved to Cyprus and joined Pafos. He got injured during a game and was out for several months.
- In 2021, he joined Bisceglie, a club in Italy's third division.
Playing for His Country
Abdisalam Ibrahim has played for Norway at many different age levels. He played for the Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 teams.
He could have chosen to play for Somalia, his birth country. However, he wanted to play for the Norwegian national team. He made his debut for the senior national team in a friendly game against Moldova in 2014. Since he has not played for Norway in a competitive match, he could still technically play for Somalia.
About Abdisalam's Life
Abdisalam has an older brother, Abdirashid Ibrahim, who is also a semi-professional footballer. He also has a younger brother named Abdijabar Ibrahim. When he was growing up, Abdisalam was a fan of Arsenal. His football heroes were Patrick Vieira and later Yaya Touré. His nickname is Abdi. In 2013, Abdisalam became a father for the first time.
