Abdón Castro Tolay was once called Barrancas. It is famous for its huge natural rock walls. These walls have ancient cave paintings and petroglyphs, which are carvings made into rock.

The village is named after a teacher, Abdón Castro Tolay. He spent his life helping the community. You can find the village on provincial route RP 75.
