Abigail Kofi Kim (born 19 July 1998) is a talented football player. She was born in Monrovia, Liberia. Abi plays as a forward for Ankara BB Fomget in the Turkish Super League. She also plays for the Ghana national team. Before playing for Ghana, she represented the United States in youth teams up to the under-23 level.
Abi played college soccer for the California Golden Bears. She has also played for several professional clubs. These include LA Galaxy OC in United Women's Soccer, Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League, and Fiorentina in Italy's Serie A.

Early Life and High School Soccer
Abi Kim was born in Monrovia, Liberia. She grew up with an adopted family in Vashon, Washington, USA.
She went to Seattle Christian High School. In 2015, she helped her school's soccer team win the 1A state championship. She scored 41 goals in just 20 games that year! She was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) by the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association.
Abi also played club soccer for Pacific Northwest SC. Her team won the state championship in both 2013 and 2014. Besides soccer, Abi was a track and field athlete for Seattle Christian. She helped her team win three state titles in a row.
College Soccer at California Golden Bears
Abi was chosen to play college soccer for the California Golden Bears. She was a starting player for four years, from 2016 to 2019.
In 2016, she played in all 21 of Cal's matches. She started 16 games, which was more than any other freshman player. Because of her great performance, she was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. In 2019, Abi became the captain of her team for her final season. She studied legal studies and was also recognized for her good grades in 2018.
During the 2019 off-season, Abi joined LA Galaxy OC, a club in the UWS league. She played in three games as the team won the National Championship that year.
Professional Club Career
Playing for Fiorentina
In 2020, Abi Kim was chosen by Orlando Pride in the NWSL College Draft. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused many changes to the soccer season. After recovering from a knee injury, Abi decided to sign with Fiorentina in Italy in June 2020. Fiorentina is a team in Italy's top league, Serie A.
Her signing was officially completed on October 17, 2020, due to travel and quarantine rules. She played her first game on November 1. It was a Coppa Italia match where Fiorentina won 6–1. On December 13, she scored her first goal for the club in a 1–1 league draw. A few days later, she made her debut in the UEFA Women's Champions League. Fiorentina won that game and moved on to the next round.
Return to Orlando Pride
After playing in Italy, Abi returned to Orlando Pride for the 2021 season. She signed a two-year contract on March 2, 2021. She made her first NWSL appearance for Orlando on April 10, 2021. She came into the game as a substitute and scored a goal in the 88th minute, helping her team draw 2–2.
Abi played for Orlando Pride for two seasons. She appeared in 21 games in total, scoring one goal and making two assists. On August 24, 2022, her contract with Orlando Pride ended.
Playing in France and Turkey
In August 2023, Abi signed a two-year contract with Bordeaux, a club in France's top women's league.
In September 2024, she moved to Turkey. She joined Ankara BB Fomget to play in the Turkish Super League. She helped her team win the championship title in the 2024–25 Super League season.
International Career
Abi Kim has played for the United States national youth teams. She represented the under-18, under-20, and under-23 teams.
In January 2018, Abi was part of the U20 team that finished second in the 2018 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. They lost the final to Mexico in a penalty shootout. In August 2018, she was also on the team for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. She played in three games as a substitute.
In April 2019, Abi was called up to the U23 team for a tournament. She started in two of the three games.
Abi's biological father is from Ghana, which means she can play for the Ghana national team. In April 2024, the Ghana coach talked to her about joining the team. On May 30, 2025, she made her first appearance for Ghana. She came into a friendly game against Ivory Coast as a substitute in the 83rd minute. The game ended in a 3–3 draw.
