Early Life and Family
Abigail Forbes was born in Mineola, New York. Her parents are from Jamaica. She is the oldest of three children. Her younger brother, Matthew, also plays tennis.
Tennis Career Highlights
Abigail had a big win at the Wimbledon tournament in 2019. She won the girls' doubles title with her partner, Savannah Broadus. This was a major achievement in junior tennis.
Later in 2019, on August 10, she and Alexa Noel won another important doubles title. They won the USTA Girls 18s National Championships. This win earned them a special entry, called a wild card, into the main doubles competition at the 2019 US Open.
Abigail also reached a high ranking in junior tennis. Her best combined ranking by the ITF was No. 16. She achieved this on October 14, 2019.
College Tennis Journey
After her junior career, Abigail decided to play college tennis. She started attending the UCLA in the fall of 2019. She played for the UCLA Bruins women's tennis team until 2022.
After graduating from UCLA, she continued her education and tennis career. She joined the UNC Kenan–Flagler Business School and became part of the North Carolina Tar Heels tennis team. In her first season with North Carolina, she helped her team win a national title in 2023. This was at the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships.
