Abiola Abrams (born July 29, 1976) is an American author, podcaster, and motivational speaker. She also works as a spiritual life coach. Abiola has written three books, including African Goddess Initiation: Sacred Rituals for Self-Love, Prosperity, and Joy. This book was published by Hay House in 2021.
Her inspirational podcast was named one of the "20 Must-Listen to Black Women Podcasts for 2019" by Black Enterprise. In 2020, Success.com chose it as one of "16 Motivational Podcasts by Black Hosts You Need to Listen To." Essence Magazine has also featured her yearly Goddess Retreat. Abiola's website, Womanifesting.com, shares ideas about spirituality, growing as a person, and starting your own business. She used to write advice columns like Intimacy Intervention for Essence.com.

Early Life and Education
Abiola Abrams grew up in New York City. Her family came from Guyana, making her a first-generation Guyanese-American. She went to the Brearley School. Later, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College. She also received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Abiola has been a speaker at events like the NYC Women's Empowerment Summit.
Her Career and Creative Works
Black Enterprise magazine recognized Abiola's website as one of the best lifestyle blogs for African Americans. Her first writing project was a play called Goddess City. This play was about empowering people and was performed at the Schomburg Center. It was later published in a book called Say Word!.
In 2007, her first novel, Dare, was published by Simon & Schuster. Abiola's poem "Groceries" is part of a famous book called A Memory, A Monologue a Rant and A Prayer. This book also includes works by well-known writers like Maya Angelou and Alice Walker. She also wrote essays for the book Behind the Bedroom Door.
Abiola Abrams also made experimental art films. One of her short films, "Ophelia's Opera," was part of a film series by filmmaker Miranda July. In 2017, this film was added to the collections of the Criterion Channel and the Getty Museum Research Institute.
Television and Film Work
From 2011 to 2012, Abiola was an entertainment reporter for the BBC. She also hosted The Best Shorts, a show on Black Entertainment Television (BET) that featured independent films. This was from 2006 to 2008.
She has hosted or co-hosted other shows too. These include The Source: All Access, a hip hop show, and Chat Zone, an HBO talk show. She also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to interview celebrities at the 2007 BET Awards.
Abiola has directed documentaries and short films. Her documentaries include Taboo: The Controversy of Black/White 'Race Mixing' in America (2005). She also directed short films like Stranded (2004) and Ophelia's Opera (2001).
