Ablanque is a small town in Spain. It is a municipality located in the province of Guadalajara. This area is part of the Castilla–La Mancha region. In 2007, about 157 people lived there. Ablanque is known for its beautiful natural surroundings.
Geography of Ablanque
Ablanque is nestled in a valley. It sits on a small hill. This hill is on the right side of the Ablanquejo River. The river flows south for 8 kilometers. It then joins the larger Tagus River.
Natural Features
Around Ablanque, you can find many acres of pine forest. There are also old Roman remains in the area. An artificial reservoir and dam are also present. In summer, people from nearby villages enjoy swimming and relaxing there.
Neighboring Towns
Ablanque shares its borders with several other places. To the east, it borders Cobeta and Olmeda de Cobeta. To the north, it is next to the land of the Duke of Medinaceli. To the south, you'll find La Buenafuente del Sistal and Huertahernando. To the west, it borders La Loma and Riba de Saelices.
Past Events
In 2005, a large wildfire affected the town. It burned more than 12,000 hectares of forest. This was a very serious event for the area.
