Acacias is a lively town and municipality in the Meta Department of Colombia. It's known as one of the most important towns in the Meta region. This is because of its growing population and strong economy. Other important towns nearby include La Macarena, Granada, and Villavicencio, the capital city.

The town got its name from the beautiful acacia flowers. These flowers used to bloom all over the area. Acacias is seen as a place with lots of progress and development.

Acacias shares its borders with several other places. To the north, it borders the Cundinamarca Department. To the south, it borders the towns of Castilla la Nueva and Guamal. The municipality of San Carlos de Guaroa is to its east. Finally, it borders Guamal again to the west.

In 2017, the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) estimated the total population of Acacias to be about 72,048 people.
