Aceituna is a small town and municipality in Spain. It is located in the province of Cáceres. This area is part of the autonomous community of Extremadura. The town covers about 40 square kilometers and has around 600 people living there.

History of Aceituna
Aceituna was first settled a long time ago, in the 13th century. It started as a small village. Back then, it was part of a larger area called the Galisteo Lordship.
Later, in 1837, Aceituna became its own independent town, or municipality. This happened at the same time as other villages in the lordship also gained their independence. In 1842, a count showed that Aceituna had 110 homes and 603 people.
Tasty Food in Aceituna
The food in Aceituna is made using fresh ingredients from the local area. During the time when pigs are prepared, people make special sausages called kiko sausages and liendrillas.
In the summer, two popular dishes are gazpacho (a cold soup) and zorongollo (a salad). For weddings and other big parties, sweet treats are often served. These include honey and sugar donuts, fried bagels, honey flowers, and buns. On a special pilgrimage day, people share roses dipped in sugar.

Aceituna celebrates several fun events throughout the year. Here are some of the main ones:

- Carnivals: These lively events are full of costumes and fun.

Rivers and Lakes
All the water from Aceituna flows into the Alagón River. This river also forms the border between Aceituna and another town called Valdeobispo.
Some important streams that flow through Aceituna are the Aceituna Streams, the Higaleja Stream, and the Ribera del Bronco Stream.
There are also two main reservoirs (places where water is stored). The San Marcos dam is on the Aceituna stream, in the southern part of the town. The Valdeobispo reservoir is on the border with Valdeobispo.
You can also find several natural lakes in the area. These include Lake Maruguero, Laguna Nueva, Manzano Lagoon, Chavarcón Lagoon, Chica Lagoon, and Tejares Lagoon.
