Ada-Hi Falls (pronounced Uh-dah-HEE) is a beautiful waterfall found in Black Rock Mountain State Park. This park is located in Rabun County, Georgia, in the United States. The name "Ada-Hi" comes from the Cherokee language and means "forest." It's known for being the highest elevation waterfall in the entire state of Georgia.

Exploring Ada-Hi Falls

Ada-Hi Falls is a natural wonder nestled high in the mountains. Because it's so high up, the amount of water flowing over the falls can change a lot. Sometimes there's a strong rush, and other times it's a gentle trickle. This makes each visit a unique experience!

What Makes it Special?

The waterfall is surrounded by a thick forest, especially full of beautiful rhododendron plants. These plants have lovely flowers that add to the scenery. Ada-Hi Falls is a "horsetail" type waterfall. This means the water stays in contact with the rock as it flows down, looking a bit like a horse's tail. It drops about 35 feet (11 meters).

Visiting the Falls

To see Ada-Hi Falls, you can take a short but steep hike. The trail leads you right to an observation deck. From this deck, you get a fantastic view of the waterfall and the surrounding forest. It's a great spot for taking pictures and enjoying nature. Remember to wear good shoes for the hike!
