Early Life and Training
Adam Bakri was born in Jaffa and grew up in a village called Bi'ina. He comes from a Palestinian family of actors. His father, Mohammad Bakri, is an actor and director, and his brothers, Saleh Bakri and Ziad Bakri, are also actors.
Adam studied English literature and Theater arts at Tel Aviv University. After that, he trained to be an actor at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Acting Career
Adam started acting on stage when he was just 13 years old. His first play was Ululation of the Land at the Al-Midan Theater in Haifa and Nazareth.
Soon after finishing his studies, he got the main role in Hany Abu-Assad's drama Omar. This movie helped him become famous.
In 2014, Adam was chosen to play the main male character in Ali and Nino. This film was based on a famous novel from Azerbaijan.
Later, in 2018, Bakri starred in an Australian movie called Slam. This film was written and directed by Partho Sen-Gupta and filmed in Sydney, Australia. That same year, he joined the cast of the political thriller Official Secrets in England. In this movie, he played the husband of Katharine Gun.
Personal Life
In September 2022, Adam Bakri married Cynthia Samuel, who is a Lebanese-Canadian model and actress. They met while working on a film called Hell's Gate. Their wedding ceremony took place in Cyprus.
