Adam Brett Walker II, born on October 18, 1991, is an American professional baseball player. He plays as a designated hitter for the Kanagawa Future Dreams team in Japan's Baseball Challenge League (BCL). Before joining the Future Dreams, he played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Yomiuri Giants and Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. Adam was chosen by the Minnesota Twins in the 3rd round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft after playing college baseball at Jacksonville University.

Adam Walker's Baseball Journey
Adam Walker's professional baseball career began when he was drafted by the Minnesota Twins. He then played for several other teams in the minor leagues before moving to Japan.
Playing for the Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins picked Adam Walker in the 3rd round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. He signed with the Twins on June 17, 2012. Adam started his professional journey with the rookie-level Elizabethton Twins. In his first 58 games, he hit 14 home runs.
In 2013, Adam played for the Single-A Cedar Rapids Kernels. He had a great year, hitting 27 home runs and bringing in 109 runs. The next year, he moved to the High-A Fort Myers Miracle. There, he hit 25 home runs and had 94 runs batted in.
In 2015, Adam played for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. He hit a career-high 31 home runs and had 106 runs batted in. After this successful season, the Twins added him to their 40-man roster. In 2016, Adam played for the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. He hit 27 home runs and had 75 runs batted in during that season.
Time with Other Teams
After his time with the Twins, Adam Walker moved between several teams. On November 18, 2016, the Milwaukee Brewers claimed him. Then, the Baltimore Orioles claimed him on December 2. In January 2017, the Atlanta Braves claimed him. He played briefly for the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves and Double-A Mississippi Braves before being released in May 2017.
Adam then signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles again on May 10, 2017. He played well for the Double-A Bowie Baysox, hitting 6 home runs in 12 games. He was then promoted to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides, but was released in July.
Later in 2017, Adam signed with the Cincinnati Reds organization. He played for the Triple-A Louisville Bats for the rest of the season. He became a free agent in November 2017.
Independent League Baseball
In 2018, Adam Walker played for the Kansas City T-Bones in the American Association of Professional Baseball, an independent league. He then signed a minor league deal with the Washington Nationals in May 2018. He played for the Double-A Harrisburg Senators.
In 2019, Adam joined the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association. He played 98 games for them. He re-signed with the Milkmen for the 2020 season. That year, he hit 22 home runs and helped the team win the American Association championship. He was also named the American Association Player of the Year.
Adam continued his success in 2021 with the Milkmen. He hit a league-leading 33 home runs and had 101 runs batted in. He was named the American Association Player of the Year for the second year in a row. This made him the first player in the league's history to win the Most Valuable Player award twice in a row.
Playing in Japan
Yomiuri Giants
On December 15, 2021, Adam Walker signed with the Yomiuri Giants in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in Japan. He made his NPB debut on March 26, 2022. In his first season with the Giants, he played in 124 games. He hit 23 home runs and had 52 runs batted in. In 2023, he played in 57 games for the Giants, hitting 6 home runs.
Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks
On November 5, 2023, Adam was traded to the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. He played 20 games for SoftBank in 2024. He hit one home run and had three runs batted in. On December 2, 2024, the Hawks announced that Adam would become a free agent.
Kanagawa Future Dreams
On April 25, 2025, Adam Walker signed with the Kanagawa Future Dreams. This team is part of the Baseball Challenge League in Japan.
Adam Walker's Family
Adam's father, Adam Walker, also played professional sports. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings in 1987.
