She travels around the world to perform and record music.

Early Life and Music Journey

Adele Anthony was born in Singapore. Her father, Alphonse Jivaras Anthony, was the first concertmaster of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. This means he was the lead violinist in the orchestra.

Adele started playing the violin when she was very young, at just two and a half years old. This was after her family moved to Tasmania, Australia. She later went to school in South Australia and continued her violin studies in Adelaide with teachers like Lyndall Hendrickson and Beryl Kimber.

Becoming a Young Star

In 1984, when Adele was 13, she achieved something amazing. She became the youngest winner of the ABC Instrumental and Vocal Competition. This competition is now known as the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards. For her winning performance, she played the famous Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

After this big win, Adele moved to New York to study at the Juilliard School. This is a very famous music school. She studied there for eight years with a well-known teacher named Dorothy DeLay. In 1996, she won another important award, the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition.
