Adelina Ismaili (born December 14, 1979) is a famous singer, actress, and former beauty pageant winner from Kosovo. She is one of the most well-known pop stars in the Albanian-speaking world.
A Star from a Young Age
Adelina Ismaili began her singing career when she was just a child. She quickly became a popular singer in Kosovo during the 1990s. She participated in many music festivals for children, like Akordet e Kosovës and Festivali i këngës për fëmijë në RTSH.
As a teenager, Adelina released songs that talked about important topics for young people, such as children's rights. She was one of the first young artists in Kosovo to sing about subjects that were meaningful to her generation.
A Music Trendsetter
After a short break, Adelina returned with new music that changed the Albanian music scene. She introduced new and exciting styles of performing on stage that had never been seen before. She became known for her bold and unique music videos and performances.
Some of her most famous songs from this time include "Amaneti" and "Shota." She also sang powerful songs about the Kosovo War, such as "Lavdi ushtarit tim" (which means Honor to My Soldier), to show support for those affected by the conflict.
In 1997, Adelina's fame grew even more when she was crowned Miss Kosovo.
