Adelina Ismaili (born December 14, 1979) is a famous singer, actress, and former beauty queen from Kosovo. She is known for her powerful voice and unique style.
A Star is Born
Adelina started singing when she was very young. She quickly became one of Kosovo's most important singers in the 1990s. As a child, she took part in many music festivals across Albanian-speaking areas. These included Akordet e Kosovës and Festivali i këngës për fëmijë në RTSH.
Singing for Change
Even as a teenager, Adelina released many songs. These songs often talked about important topics like children's rights and the lives of young people. She was one of the first singers in Kosovo to bravely discuss subjects that others her age might have avoided.
A New Style of Music
After a short break, Adelina came back with new songs. These songs brought a fresh, exciting style to the Albanian music scene. She introduced new ways of dressing and performing on stage that had never been seen before. Some of her most popular songs from this time were "Amaneti," "Qe 1 vjet e 7 ditë," and "Shota." She also sang many songs to honor those affected by the Kosovo War, like "Lavdi ushtarit tim" (which means Honor to My Soldier). In 1997, Adelina was also crowned Miss Kosovo.
