He also received special honorary degrees from other universities.
His Philosophy
Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez was interested in Marxism. This is a way of thinking about society, economics, and politics. However, he had his own unique ideas about it. He believed in an open and critical way of looking at Marxism, not a strict or old-fashioned one.
His fresh ideas were similar to those of the Frankfurt School, another group of thinkers. For example, his book The Philosophy of Praxis came out around the same time as Herbert Marcuse's One Dimensional Man. Sánchez Vázquez also had strong views on ethics, which is about what is right and wrong. He disagreed with very strict rules in ethics.
