Adriane Johnson is an American politician. She serves as a member of the Illinois Senate. She represents the 30th district. Johnson started her work on October 11, 2020. She took over from Terry Link. The 30th district includes many towns. Some of these are Beach Park, Buffalo Grove, Green Oaks, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Mundelein, North Chicago, Riverwoods, Wheeling, Vernon Hills, and Waukegan.

Adriane Johnson's Education
Adriane Johnson went to college and earned two important degrees. She received a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from Columbia College Chicago. Later, she earned a Master of Jurisprudence in business law. This degree came from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Adriane Johnson's Career
After finishing her education, Adriane Johnson began her career. In 2015, she joined the Illinois Association of Park Districts' (IAPD) Board of Trustees. She served two years as vice chair. Then, she spent one year as chair-elect.
Becoming a State Senator
On October 11, 2020, she was chosen to join the Illinois Senate. She took the place of Terry Link. This was a big moment. Johnson became the first African-American state senator. She represents Lake County, Illinois. Even after becoming a senator, she kept serving on the Buffalo Grove Park Board. She stayed on the board until her term ended.
