Adriano Afonso Maleiane was born on November 6, 1949. He is a well-known Mozambican economist and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Mozambique from March 3, 2022, until January 15, 2025. Before that, he held other important positions in the government.

Early Life and Education
Adriano Maleiane studied economics at Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique. He then went on to get his master's degree. He studied managerial finance at the University of London. This education helped him prepare for his future roles in finance and government.
Career in Public Service
Central Bank Governor
From 1991 to 2006, Maleiane worked as the governor of Mozambique's central bank. This bank is called the Bank of Mozambique. As governor, he was in charge of the country's money and banking system.
Head of Investment Bank
Later, between 2011 and January 2015, he was the chairman and CEO of the Banco Nacional de Investimento (BNI). This is Mozambique's state-owned development bank. It helps fund important projects in the country.
Minister of Economy and Finance
On January 19, 2015, Maleiane became the Minister of Economy and Finance. He served in President Filipe Nyusi's cabinet. In this role, he managed the country's money and economic plans. He continues to serve in this important position.
Prime Minister of Mozambique
On March 3, 2022, Adriano Maleiane was appointed Prime Minister of Mozambique. He held this high office until January 15, 2025. As Prime Minister, he led the government and helped make important decisions for the country.
