Early Life and Family
Adrián Chávez was born in Mexico City, Mexico. His father was Al Pinkston, an American baseball player. Al Pinkston played for a team called Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz. This was in the Mexican League when Adrián was born.
Al Pinkston wanted to take Adrián back to the United States. However, Adrián's mother did not agree. She even changed Adrián's name to make sure he stayed in Mexico. Adrián never met his father in person. In 1982, he tried to find him. Sadly, he learned that his father had passed away a year earlier.
Playing for Clubs
Adrián Chávez played for several football clubs. He spent most of his 20-year career with América. He also played for Necaxa, Atlante, and Universidad Nacional. As a goalkeeper, he helped protect his team's goal.
Playing for Mexico
Adrián Chávez also played for the Mexican national team. He represented his country in international matches.
