Advance is a small community in Ohio, United States. It's not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it's an unincorporated community. This means it's a place where people live, but it's managed by the larger county or townships around it.

Advance is special because it's where three different areas, called townships, meet. These are Dover, Chesterfield, and Pike Townships. It's also where two roads, County Road M and County Road 13, cross paths. Advance is located in Fulton County.

History of Advance

Advance once had its own Post Office. This post office was open for a short time, from 1893 to 1901.

Today, Advance is still an important spot on county maps. You can find it on maps showing fire districts and locations of tornado sirens. A tornado siren is placed just east of where the roads meet. This siren helps keep everyone safe, including residents and visitors from all three townships that meet in Advance.

Emergency Services

Different emergency teams serve the Advance community. The Lyons Fire and EMS (Emergency Medical Services) team helps most people living north in Chesterfield Township and east in Pike Township. If you are in the southwest part of Advance, in Dover Township, the Wauseon Fire and EMS team provides help.

The Village of Lyons also provides water to a large campground located in Advance.

Fun Things to Do in Advance

Advance is home to a big private campground. It covers 115 acres and has 800 campsites for people to stay. There's also a small golf course there. This campground is located in Chesterfield Township, just northeast of the main junction.
