Agamont Park is a lovely park in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. It used to be called Bar Harbor Park. This park is a special place where you can see amazing views of the ocean and islands.
The park sits on a hill at the very end of Main Street. From here, you can enjoy wide, open views of the water. You can see Mount Desert Narrows, Frenchman Bay, and many small islands. It's a very popular spot for tourists to visit and take pictures.
When you enter the park from Main Street, you'll see a cool water fountain. It was designed by an artist named Eric Sodderholtz.

Watching Fireworks
Every year, on the Fourth of July, many people gather here. It's one of the best spots in town to watch the exciting fireworks show!

Honoring Veterans
In 2013, there was a special display in the park. It was from an organization called Wreaths Across America. This group honors military veterans. The town council decided to move the display, which caused some discussion.
History of Agamont Park
The land where Agamont Park now stands has an interesting past.
Agamont House: Bar Harbor's First Hotel
Before it was a park, this spot was home to a building called Agamont House. Sometimes it was called Agamont Hotel. It was built way back in 1840 by a person named Tobias Roberts.
In 1855, the building was made bigger and became the very first hotel in Bar Harbor! Sadly, the Agamont House burned down in a fire in 1888.
