Agos facts for kids
Agos (Armenian: Ակօս, meaning "Furrow") is an Armenian weekly newspaper that started on April 5, 1996. It is published in Turkey, specifically in the city of Istanbul.
This newspaper is special because it is printed in both the Armenian language and the Turkish language. It also has an online version in English. About 5,000 copies of the newspaper are printed each week.
A very important person for Agos was Hrant Dink. He was the main editor, also called the chief editor, from when the newspaper first began until January 2007. Sadly, he was killed outside the newspaper's office in Istanbul.
After Hrant Dink's tragic death, his son, Arat Dink, who was already working as an executive editor, continued his role. Etyen Mahçupyan became the new chief editor for a while. Today, the chief editor of Agos is Rober Koptaş.
