Aileen Mary Edith Elliott (born December 19, 1896 – died 1966) was a talented British artist. She was especially known for her beautiful paintings of boats and busy harbour scenes.

Aileen Elliott was born in Southampton, England. Her parents were Jean Alexander Brown and Walter Pearson Elliott. Her father worked as a timber merchant.

Her Education and Art Training

Aileen Elliott studied art in London. She first attended the Regent Street Polytechnic. After that, she went to the Central School of Arts and Crafts. Both schools helped her develop her artistic skills.

Her Art and Exhibitions

Aileen Elliott created many different types of art. She made drawings, etchings, and paintings. Her favorite subjects were ships, boats, seascapes, and harbour scenes. She showed her artwork often. Between 1922 and 1940, she exhibited at important places. These included the Royal Academy and the Royal Scottish Academy. She also showed her art with the Society of Women Artists. Her work was displayed at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. From 1930, she also exhibited at the Paris Salon. This was a very famous art show in Paris.

Aileen Elliott became a member of the Society of Graphic Art. She was also a member of the Winchester Art Club. Some of her etchings were even made into prints. A company called Greatorex sold these prints. Today, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London has some of her marine scenes. These are artworks showing the sea or ships.

Helping During Wartime

Aileen Elliott also helped her country during difficult times. She served with the Red Cross during both World War I and World War II. The Red Cross is a group that helps people in need.

For some time, she lived in Berkshire. Later in her life, she lived in Lee-on-Solent.
