Air Bud: Golden Receiver is a fun sports comedy film from 1998. It is also known as Air Bud 2. This movie is a sequel to the popular film Air Bud.

The film was made in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was the last Air Bud movie to be shown in movie theaters. Sadly, this film is dedicated to the memory of the original Air Bud, a dog named Air Buddy. He passed away in 1998, just a few months before the movie came out, due to a serious illness.

Unlike the first movie, Air Bud: Golden Receiver did not earn as much money at the box office. It also received mixed reviews from critics.

Story of the Film

Josh Framm (Kevin Zegers) is now a teenager. He plays basketball, but his life changes when his mom, Jackie, starts dating Patrick Sullivan. Patrick is the new veterinarian in town.

One day, Patrick playfully throws a football to Buddy, Josh's talented dog. Josh then discovers that Buddy is also amazing at playing football! Soon, Buddy joins Josh's Junior High football team. Josh's friend Tommy helps convince him to sign up for football instead of basketball.

At first, the team is not doing well. Their coach might even lose his job if they don't start winning. But thanks to Buddy's incredible football skills and speed, the team starts winning games. They even make it to the playoffs and reach the championship!

Meanwhile, two people from Russia, Natalya and Popov, have a plan. They kidnap Buddy! They want him to be the main attraction in their Russian circus. Around the same time, Josh runs away from home. This happens after Patrick asks his mom to marry him.

Josh's coach finds him and helps him understand. The coach explains that having Patrick in his life doesn't mean he has to stop loving his dad. Josh decides to go home. But when he gets there, Patrick is gone, and Buddy is missing!

The Timberwolves team has to play the championship game without Buddy. They are losing badly. Buddy, still with Natalya and Popov, manages to escape. He knocks over his cage, which lets out a chimpanzee. The chimpanzee then helps Buddy get free.

Buddy and the chimpanzee let all the other animals out. They all manage to escape! The chimpanzee even surprises Natalya and Popov. Soon after, Natalya and Popov are caught by the police.

Patrick finds Buddy and brings him to the game. With Buddy's help, the team starts to catch up. But then Buddy gets hurt and has to leave the game. The Timberwolves must finish the game without him. Thanks to Josh and Tommy, they win the championship!

Later, Josh stops Patrick from leaving town. He convinces Patrick to stay with the family. The family then goes to a Seattle Seahawks football game. Buddy, being Buddy, sneaks onto the field!
